History: Invoiced by AC Cars LTD. on 10/1/1962 and shipped to Shelby American in Los Angeles. Sold by Shelby on 12/3/1962 to first owner Richard Newhall of San Francisco. The color was red. Newhall, who had previously been racing an AC Bristol, took the logical next step and raced it in regional SCCA events. Going through a series of owners, the car was still being raced in the 1980’s. Then in 1994, it was purchased by Frank Zizzo, who was known as the SAAC Shelby Doctor. It was prepared for historic racing and raced many times at the Monterey Historics as well as many SAAC events from 21 forward. It was last raced competitively in 2005. It is featured in the Shelby American #65, #66, #68, #69, #74, and #88. It went through a bare metal repaint in 2007 to its original red.

Condition: Although with beautiful body and paint, the rest of the car is quite original and showing its Cobra patina. Powered by a 260 V8 with correct date codes, mated to a top loader 4-speed transmission. Unique Weber side draft manifold set up.

The alloy sheet metal in the engine bay, interior and trunk is original to this car. The rear firewall alloy panel is signed by most Shelby employees and drivers of the period.

The chassis number stamping is on the frame, front hood latch, rear deck latch and in the door.

Of Note: CSX2021 is in the SAAC registry as an independent competition car. Well documented with a 5” binder of records. Multiple SAAC awards. Eligible to race in the pre-1963 class at the Goodwood Revival.
