To quote Kevin Kivlochan: “A 289 gets you into the best events in the world and a chance to share the car with genuine heroes”. Few professional drivers refuse the opportunity to discover the ‘Cobra experience’ for themselves, even if it’s just once. The best opportunity to get behind the wheel has to be at the world’s greatest classic GT race, the RAC TT held at the Goodwood Revival each year, where owners share their cars with professional racers over an hour-long race.

In the case of 6008, it has competed at the Sussex circuit in the company of such famous names as: Derek Bell, Jochen Mass, Eddie Cheever, Marc Surer, Sir John Whitmore, Stefen Johansson, Marc Surer and racing journalist Tony Jardine. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of the finest drivers of his generation and ex-Shelby American team driver Dan Gurney got behind the wheel of the Cobra, as did Jack Sears in 2009. At other events at Silverstone and Donington, it has been raced by Gerry Marshall, Jackie Oliver and Richard Attwood.
